Editorializing Finance on Solana with Cesto's Onchain Baskets

Jason Rodrigues, founder of Sesto, discusses his platform for thematic investment baskets built on Solana. Sesto allows users to invest in curated narratives and themes (like government leaders' stock picks or specific sectors) in a single click, with assets held directly in their wallet. The platform uses Solana protocols like Jupiter and integrates tokenized real-world assets to abstract away complexity while maintaining user control and transparency. Rodrigues argues that finance is becoming editorialized through media and social platforms like X, predicting generational shifts toward community-driven investing driven by social discovery rather than traditional financial advisors. Key challenges include onboarding non-crypto users and regulatory compliance around creator monetization. The vision extends to creators and experts monetizing their investment theses, with potential future composability allowing users to lend, stake, or use baskets as collateral.

Jason, what's up? Hey. Hey. Great great to great to see you. Thanks for joining StableDash live. Awesome. Thanks for having me, Zach. And, Drew, it's good to meet you. Yeah. We are so excited for this. We we are both, I think, personally Yeah. We we look we have no fit, like, favorite guests necessarily, but there are certain ones that, like, when we come across new new launches or new concepts, especially probably for us, ones that include, like, things like media or, like,

Drew Rogers

creative creative concepts that include installation and markets. Like, we're both really excited to hear more about what you're building. Thanks for joining us. I hadn't heard of Sesto before. Obviously, Drew Drew was talking, and, you know, I was doing my own research. And I I I immediately went to the site, took a screenshot of the Pelosi tracker, and I said, I'm sold. Let's go.

I just love that. The taste and the quality. Like I said, we look at a ton of products. It's easy to We'll have to show we'll show some of the the design of the product throughout the conversation. I see, Zach, you've already kind of popped up this year. But I already have Jason I have it queued. But We're obviously excited. Give give us your intro. What are you building? Let's start start with the basics here. Yeah. Absolutely.

You know, at SetStill, we're actually on a mission to end one size fits all finance, as lofty as that sounds and as crazy as it sounds. And and one of the things that we believe that's happening in the world, and I think it's very relevant to StableDash as well, is that unlike the common belief that media is getting financialized, we think that actually it's the other way around. Finance is now getting editorialized.

And and more and more of the attention economy and how people buy and how my dad goes and buys, like, equities these days has nothing to do with going through a financial adviser or reading a document and and stuff. A lot of it is actually based on vibes. Where you've heard a thing, where you've come across a thing, and how likely you are to come across it practically determines how you go and your purchasing behavior downstream.

And so to that effect, we've we've basically built out a platform called Sesto that lets you invest into thematic baskets that reflect an idea, narrative, or theme. Say you're, you know, Drew and a big fan of the Saint Louis cardinals. I used to go. My reason. Let's go. Okay. Or you could be an Arsenal fan, you know, sitting all the way in England and a diehard fan that has, like, a season ticket, and you're obsessed with this thing. Right?

And there isn't currently any platform out there that lets you clearly monetize your knowledge, your obsession, and your your your kind of in-depth ideas in a meaningful way. And this could be that, hey. You know, I know that the sponsors for this, like, World Cup are gonna be present in this city. I know that, you know, ESPN has the broadcasting rights. And so what we've built out is a platform that allows you to invest across the stack.

So if you think AI is gonna be huge, getting in on NVIDIA is one way to do it, you but could also get in on electricity, data centers, and get all that knowledge from experts. And what we've done slightly differently is we focused a lot on, like, editorial and brand. So Mhmm. To to take kind of the supermarket analogy here, why we think this is because products should be beautiful.

And when you come into a supermarket, you go into a Whole Foods, you buy, like, a specific brand of cereal, but then, you know what, you go in for, like, something else and then something else. And that's what we think is gonna happen to a lot of financial products is that you're gonna come in, you're gonna see, you know, hey. Capital gains is really cool basket.

And then you think, oh, you know, maybe this basket curated by this ex OpenAI guy that does, like, AI leaders, he probably knows what he's talking about, and you're gonna buy that and then go into, like, other things. And so what we've crafted out is a really simple way to do that. How it works is you you come in, you look at a narrative, you connect your wallet, and in one click, you have all the assets sitting directly inside your wallet. It's literally that simple. This is sweet. Yeah.

So as you think about what exists today,

Zach Fowler

obviously, like, the creative here is really interesting. It's very you know, I love how it think I it is gonna play really well on socials like X. I think people are gonna get behind this a lot. How how have you actually architected this? Like, give us a little bit of the the under the hood reality of what's going on when someone comes to the site, creates an account, what partners are you using.

A lot of the people who listen to the show are also pretty industry native and, like, are very interested in, like, how things are getting built. So would love the

stack around some of this too. Yeah. Absolutely. So under the hood, we're using all of the Darling protocols inside the Solana ecosystem. So the Jupiters, the Caminos of the world that, like, The the Darling the Darling protocols. I haven't heard that before. Who's in this list? Well Jupiter. Anyone yeah. Jupiter, Camino, XTox, like, we use like, we integrate with all of the, you know, native wallets inside the ecosystem, all of their tokens that are present. So all of these kind of partners.

We also use Para, which helps us with, like, wallet infrastructure. So what we mean, these are all, like, household names. So we're not reinventing the wheel on saying, hey. We're gonna bootstrap liquidity or try to, like, take your money elsewhere. What we're doing instead is saying, hey.

We're gonna figure out the best way to package it up and bundle it in a way that's easy, one click, and you own the full asset so that you can then go and, like, lend it, you can stake it, you can borrow against it, do all sorts of things. But let's say, you know, markets keep changing. Well, we've got you covered on that as well because you can, in one click, easily rebalance as well. So you don't have to actually do, anything out of the ordinary to rebalance. You can come in.

You can see, like, the update based on, like, market drift so that you're able to catch that as well. And so under the hood, we figured out a really efficient way to do this that packages things like little Legos. It's kinda like think of it as financial Legos that plug them all together in a way that effectively brings it back reliably a 100% of the time without you having to figure it out.

And, yeah, we've spent a lot of time thinking about like transaction bundling and making sure that, you know, transactions indeed land because blockchains are known to be wildly inefficient when you're running, like, bundled transactions across five or seven, like and so our experience as a team has helped us really improvise on this specific layer of the stack. Appreciate you walking through that. What's what's been the most difficult part of building this so far?

Like, what part of the the build would you say has been the most challenging or where you've you've run into the most stickiness as a founder? Yeah. Absolutely. So so far, I think we get a lot of excitement from people who've never touched crypto before. And I love that excitement because it gives me a lot of energy to think about new things and new ideas, especially as people are, like, super experienced in this, like, very one very specific domain.

And one of the things that we observe is that they find it very challenging to on ramp into crypto. While that's not assessed to a specific problem, one of the things we've been thinking deeply about is, like, how can we vertically integrate across the stack and think about the stack as a more, you know, deep phenomenon as opposed to it being, you know, unspecific to, this experience. I think on and off ramps, like, they are complicated. They take a lot of time.

KYC, etcetera, it's, like, quite mind boggling for a lot of people. I was I was interested to go into some of these specific portfolios.

your page. We can try again. Looks like he's trying that. Yeah. Well, I'm trying to get up. Let's see here. I can put you in. Here we go. Yeah. Go ahead. Mine mine wasn't Alright. So war mode. Let's let's go to war mode. I mean, if you just look at the, like, returns here, it's, like, pretty ridiculous and enticing. Lockheed, RTX on Boeing New tab, Eric. New tab. You gotta share. Oh, there we go. Okay. So we have the actual breakdown of the portfolio. So these are are these equities? Yeah. These look like equities.

Palantir, Lockheed, General Electric, Boeing. So interesting. Annual term. Let's see. Annual term based on past year, non indicative. Classic. K. Let's see. Let's go into the other one. I wanted to see the Pelosi one really quick. Jason, we're we're into the actual

Zach Fowler

host

8:15

kind of nuts and bolts of some of these trackers. I love it. Is there a is there a good one that we can use to dive specifically into that's, like, know, can help kind of see what's under the hood? Is this a good one that we're on? Yeah. Yeah. The greatest investor of all time, Nancy Pelosi. Yeah. Pelosi. Is this the one we're on? Pelosi's?

Drew Rogers

host

8:33

Yep. This is Pelosi's.

Zach Fowler

host

8:35

Greatest investor of all time. Gotta put that up. What do so so this is a basket effectively of well, looks like are these mainly are these tokenized stocks? Yes. So they're all tokenized stocks

Jason Rodrigues

8:47

that are provided by different providers that have sufficient liquidity on chain to actually make these transactions go through. What happens under the hood is the moment you hit buy, you get a specific like set of all of these, like derivative directly inside your wallet. So it's very easy to do and you don't have to think about it.

And the moment, let's say, Nancy goes out there and buy something else, you get a rebalancing update that comes directly from not having to read, you know, 25 pages of, stock act report, which requires her to mandate to thoroughly report exactly what she's done. So you directly get that into your portfolio as well. So it's kept up to date in some upsides. Are you open us up a little bit into the product vision here. Like, where do you see this going?

Like, what is what does this look like today versus what you imagine it looking like in the future, you know, given some of the media, given some of the user experience? What are you cooking up here? Yeah. Absolute please. So any view at at this point, there isn't really a platform where people with serious conviction are able to distribute to people other than content platforms like YouTube, etcetera, that that that make it easy to do content.

But I think more and more as the world starts to financialize with prediction markets and perks and equities and more and more RWAs coming on chain, we envision a world where, everyone will be using, thematic baskets as their de facto way of investing. But then, you know, waking up early in the morning, instead of browsing through Instagram and finding, like, news, you would probably end up finding news. But in this case, it's, you know, it's instantly in one click tradable.

So you're able to kind of go and own baskets that reflect different things almost instantaneously. And for for me, the vision is, you know, my dad watches a lot of, stuff on YouTube and then goes and invests off of it. If Mhmm.

One day he can potentially take you know, scan a QR code and then go and, like, make a trade off of it, that would be, like, a really interesting experience, which is to say that, you know, every single person under the age of 32 that currently doesn't actually, like, invest off of, like, investment advisers goes in goes ahead and creates and, like, uses and distributes and shares baskets as a de facto way of interacting with the financial system. I think that could be really, really, really interesting.

Ancesto means basket in Spanish. That is correct. Yes. Perfect name. Do you do you see that as, a target user base for this kind of product? Is that why you named it that? Or where does that sort of language come in? To be honest, I think it was more that we just wanted to be tongue in cheek, you know, if you know, you know kind of play initially. But, you know, roll out a structured campaign around like the name basket.

We've seen a lot of, like, products that, you know, have a fruit or a, you know, an animal or a bird as part of the names that have, like, had really sticky brands. And that for us was one of the things we really spent a lot of time thinking about, which is, like, how do you build really deep high effort brand resonance with the people over time? Sesto as a word just happened to have a ring to it at the time. And, yeah, we were debating quite a few.

And hopefully, you know, at some point, we'll be on top of baskets.com,

Drew Rogers

host

11:56

and that's that's probably where we'll we'll we'll end up eventually. So when you think about this generational behavior, I think you were kind of in the green green room when we're talking about it. How much do you think people want these out of the box baskets that are, hey. I watched the video. I feel like I've done my research, but I don't really wanna go that deep. I don't wanna manage your portfolio. I kinda see two paths. There's there's always gonna be the people that they, hey.

I wanna just I wanna buy my stock. I want this immense amount of control. And then there's the the basket. There's always been the ETF people. Do you think we're gonna see kind of one reign over the other? The ETF people have not typically been like this I mean, it feels like a different kind of person almost, but it's the same idea in some ways. You know? I guess I'm saying yeah. I'm just trying to think through, you know, we've we've always approached web three as, like, hey. Take control of your finances.

Have control. Have sovereignty. It feels like in a way, maybe baskets,

Jason Rodrigues

guest

12:52

you lose some of that freedom, but you gain other trade offs. What do you think people actually want? Yeah. That's a really good question. I think it all comes back to, you know, when you when you come across an investment idea, there's one of two ways that you go about investing into them. One of the ways is saying, hey, Drew. Give me your money. Trust me. I'm gonna go invest it on your behalf. And this is where, like, the ETFs, mutual funds, index funds, and vaults all sit.

So unlike unlike, you know, traditional financial instruments, vaults don't have the regulatory, like, safety net either. And the second way is saying, hey. This is the idea, and you go do it yourself. Open 12 tabs, some for research, some to move money into your accounts, some to, like, KYC, some to do research afterwards to make sure that it's happened, some to do test transactions.

Two hours in, there's a high likelihood that this is just gonna die as a bookmark in, you know, your Twitter feed and not actually manifest as a trade in your in your outcome. And for us, what we're trying to do is actually go squarely after the second type of people, which is the people that, you know, have the intent to actually go and make a specific trade, but are not actually going and following through on all of this.

And this for us is really important because at the end of the day, we think that, you know, a majority of the people will be people that have the intent to actually do it, but don't have the patience to actually go through the steps and monitor liquidity and do all of that. And we think that with the distrust that exists in Meme Coins right now, we're entering a very interesting place where people actually want to invest into things that have, like, long tail value and create, like, longer term impact.

And and so, yeah, we're we're pretty excited about that being, the the ideal spot. I do see how it can, like, land as sort of a a comfortable middle spot for, like Yeah. People. And and yeah.

We're we're I think I think for us, like, the main main kind of focus is, like, this idea of, like, thematic baskets and making sure that that lands as, like, direct investments into people's portfolio as opposed to, you know, them giving us their money and us managing their money for them, which is, like, goes fundamentally against, like, cryptos and principles. You brought a point about liquidity.

We talked with the tokens team recently, and, you know, we're seeing this I don't wanna, like, be a doomsdayer, but, like, this fragmentation of, hey. Okay. You wanna go trade Apple stock, and now there's 10 different tokenized versions of Apple. How are

Drew Rogers

host

15:13

you approaching that issue as you know, from a standpoint when you're building these pools? I think just briefly when I was looking at some of these baskets, it looks like some are on do or maybe I'm wrong. Are all of them on do? Are you more going where the liquidity is and what's best for the user? How are you how are you Yeah. It's a good question. I think a lot of people are probably thinking right now, are how we gonna bring tokenized equities into what we're building? How have you thought about that? Yeah.

100%. That's a that's a really good question. I think

Jason Rodrigues

guest

15:42

as of now, if you look at the trends for RWAs, they've been up and to the right. Just across the last kinda one week on Solana, it's been, like, you know, volume that's been north of a billion. And these assets, we've been working with all of the asset issuers, whether it's Denari, Ondo, X stocks, like, and and most of the asset issuers that that that currently issue, like, real world assets, we work with them natively because many a times, you know, we want specific things that we see demand for.

And volume and liquidity happens to be one of the big kinda challenges for RWAs. The way in which we address it at this point is, one is we we don't really build liquidity pools on top of it. We let people tap into the underlying liquidity directly. So you're going directly and you're purchasing off of the swap. So you have, like, that that spread underneath.

The second one is that now, you know, we we work with partners that have, like, some forms of, like, Mint and Burn that are able to, like, sustain certain demand for the asset. And then as a, you know, UX platform, we actually flag a lot of the the slippages that you may encounter if you're going for, like, a really high volume transaction at a given point in time. So we we tap a route into the pools that have the most liquidity for that asset.

Like, as an example, just today, like, Tesla x stocks happens to have, like, a very large portion of the liquidity. And so at the end of the day, I think for us, what matters is that the users have, like, a really fantastic, clean, fun experience that makes, like, feel beautiful as they're as they're investing.

And under the hood, know, a lot of the complexity, like, much like, you know, protocols like Jupiter take care of it, are are basically abstracted away and create, like, create some form of but you obviously get transparency on that before you, like, enter that. So you can kinda see much like a flow diagram. It's not a black box like a vault. You have, like, direct access into exactly what your money is gonna go into, and all the stocks end up in your wallets.

You'll see them word for word exactly how you anticipated

Drew Rogers

host

17:39

it. Now that you're building for the like, you mentioned people that were trading meme coins, but they want exposure to long tail assets. Is this, like is this your first thousand true fans, but the bigger vision is, like, the the Gen z TikTokers that are, hey. I know I need to start investing,

Jason Rodrigues

guest

17:57

but, like, I don't really know where to start. What's your vision for your maybe your current customer base, but where you see it going? Yeah. Absolutely. So at this point, I think we're we're definitely focused entirely on the Solana ecosystem and the, you know, as we said, like, the people that are focused on, like, long term investment bets inside the ecosystem as well as people that have, like, anything between a day to, like, let's say, three months of, like, constant turnaround.

But our long term vision, as with, like, Solana, you know, scaled with, like, meme coins and then went on to institutional kinda finance. We see a world where there's gonna be a trillion dollars of stable coins kinda entering the system at the end of the day. And they're gonna look for, like, interesting places that are, like, compliant, that are gonna have, like, all of these things to park their cash that have, like, certain forms of, like, compliance checks, etcetera, in place to to make sure that that happens.

And for us, eventually, the goal would be, like, as we as we accrue, like, a lot more brand value, credibility, etcetera, to figure out good ways to serve these audiences, especially as the platform becomes more and more battle tested, robust.

We think that there's a place where this becomes the de facto way in which people interact with, like, bundled assets or wrappers, which continue to be the simplest way that, institutional as well as retail investors continue to invest across at least 65 in the market comes into these wrappers right now. And so we wanna we wanna dominate that space eventually, and that's our vision for the for the product. It's really interesting, this trend of

Drew Rogers

host

19:27

meme coins were my entrance into Web three, and then it's kinda like, wow. All this stuff I can do trading meme coins. Wait. I can actually do that trading equities and and and better assets, and it's a you know, for the most part, it's a better experience. Obviously, I think most of us have been there where you're trying to execute a trade and you get hit with horrible slippage or, you know, we've seen the Solana downtimes and the meme coin hype cycles. We we talked about this with Val from Kraken and and X stocks.

He was really excited about this next wave of, like, what you can do. Like you said, once a trillion dollars of stablecoins come on chain and once more volume goes into these baskets and, you know, the other types of vaults and and yield strategies you you can make with these products. This this may be out there, and this doesn't have to be a hard product road map. But where do you see these these products go from here? Like, is it are you tokenizing the baskets now?

And then, you know, there you can borrow against them. And where do you see the space going? Do you think that's good, or do you think it's like, hey. I think we actually should pump the brakes and be okay with this fall products. And if you're going to go down that route, you should probably just be buying, you know, your Tesla stock separately and and take it and managing your your loans and leverage. Yeah. One of the things that keeps me up at night is feedback we receive from users about basket composability.

Jason Rodrigues

guest

20:45

Because the first time you buy a basket and it ends up with all of these assets in your in your in your wallet, the first thing you're thinking about is, like, hey. Can I can I lend this out? Can I stake this? Can I borrow against it? What can I do with it in one click? You let me, like, buy it in one click. What else can I do with it in one click? And so basket composability happens to be, like, one of the big things that, you know, TradFi doesn't provide.

You can't easily go out and get, like, margin leverage, etcetera. You can't easily buy into diversified, like, stocks that that that may be, like, nano cap, etcetera. That's that's much harder to do. And then third is that, you know, this this, like, world of basket composability lets anyone play with very interesting financial instruments that haven't been.

And to me, I think this might actually be the killer use use case for crypto, which is, like, being able to now enter into positions that you previously couldn't do just because money wasn't fundamentally programmable. But in this case, you can actually do that. And that suddenly makes it a very, very exciting world. Basket composability is something that I'm really excited about. Second is, like, being able to bring on the first kind of 10,000, niche obsessed creators that, like, know, the baskets.

They're well underway, you know, DMing people on Reddit and, like, speaking to, like, some of the most obsessed people that have no concept of crypto yet. But they're, like, learning a lot about it, and they're quickly onboarding themselves and, like, learning a lot about it. And we think this is gonna become the big bridge and conduit into things like Solana, Jupiter, XTox, etcetera.

Imagine, like, learning about it just because you were obsessed about, like, building baskets and sharing them with your friends, but then you ended up getting introduced to crypto along the way. This is very much the prediction markets

Zach Fowler

host

22:26

moment for what I think what is gonna be, like, the next big thing in investing. Yeah. Quick question on this. So, like, there's a big business historically around structuring these portfolios, building these out for investors. What is the role that you imagine almost like the user led growth or product led growth? I'm imagining, like, when Cash App would or Coinbase even would be like, hey. Like, share this link, and you'll get $100 when someone makes their first trade.

Do you imagine similar types of things where, like, even businesses like ours could go create, like, baskets or branded types of structures? And then I was gonna ask this too. Like, the the team Yeah. The team's at the moment. Coming out with their own AI their own AI. And then it's like, oh, shit. I trust them. They're experts. They're in their niche. That's that's that's a little bit of a

Drew Rogers

host

23:14

I feel like, you know, you're toeing a line there of, like, you know, you get into the financial advice conversation. That's what yeah. That's the complexity. But it's hard because you're like, you're right. We track this. Like,

Jason Rodrigues

guest

23:23

there are people that wanna seek out, like, hey. I'm watching this because I want an edge. What do I do next? And we should or whoever is building these things out, these portfolios out, as in the traditional world, should have some compensation or reward for that if they're helping people make money. Like, there's a big business in that. So so, Jason, what are we onto this? Or Are we off that there's a lot of are we off on that? No.

I I think you're spot on in that this is the world that eventually, you know, the way Twitter pays out its creators as a revenue share for, like, you know, keeping eyeballs on the Internet, I think there's a very clear way in which creators that are obsessed monetize not just their brand, but their creatives in not just their content, but in other formats over time.

And, I don't think this is a technological challenge as much as it is a regulatory compliance, like, challenge that, you know, people eventually will figure out. I I have a good feeling about it. That I think it's just a matter of figuring out the way in which people can get paid out for their obsessive creativity, so to speak.

So I envision a world where, you know, with the with the brand and the distribution that you're currently building out, you can envision a place where you potentially have a Zesto basket that has, like, a you know, some of these logos running in the in the background, but that allow you to find, like, you know much like your Twitter list, maybe a a list that you're engaged with right now and you're able to actively, like, endorse that and potentially even, you know, participate in and

Zach Fowler

host

24:52

earn in the upside off. Yeah. I'm super interested in this. We've we've we've unfortunately gone down many side quests or what do we call these things? Flashing? Sides side quest slash shiny object. Shiny object syndrome is what I am plagued by, and one of those was pursuing what it would look like to just be more involved with, like, startups early, funding them, angeling into them.

And, like, we are early in a lot of these things, and something like that would be really interesting if we could, a business, create baskets of different startups. Like Yeah. Obviously, all of these aren't public and tokenized in this way, but, like, you go through, like, public, republic, like, these private market things, and you can really start expanding the pie. Think about it like, okay. We've met with Star. I don't know, Sesto. I mean, Jason, I don't know if you've seen Star.

They're doing livestream Shark Tank to, you know, going into the pre seed round, and these are actual equity tokens,

Drew Rogers

host

25:46

you know, for pre seed, CHJ startups. And then you kinda go down the next route of, well, what if I want a basket of these, you know, companies that have raised OnStar? That would be a good one. There's a there's a partnership for you. But, you know, that that's what we're tracking too because it's like I said, I've I've said this a few times.

We love covering the big names, the names, the household names in in crypto and web three that everybody knows, everybody wants to hear from, but there's something that is inspiring and kinda keeps us going with meeting with earlier stage founders that are, you know, in two, three, ten years are going to be in that position. And how do you balance those? And, also, how do you do you make sure that it's a it's a benefit add to our our listeners as well? 100%. I mean, you guys are always,

Jason Rodrigues

guest

26:29

you know, innovating on the cusp of, like, what I think is, like, the biggest cultural wave. I mean, we we didn't have to have the open AI acquisition of TBPN to think that, you know I think media is is is massive, and I think you're scratching the surface of, like, what is, like, possible, specifically in the early stages. We've seen historically with Lenny's newsletter and, like, Taylor Swift with with the media business and, like, Ryan Ryan Reynolds, like, buying, like, teams.

Like, I think there's very real reality or, like, very much depth to what I said initially about more and more of media used to be financialized, but now I think, like, more and more of finance is gonna get editorialized. Like so Woah. Smart people like you sitting at the at the forefront of that and being able to drive, like, very specific, like, editorial around it is why people are gonna potentially come in and, you know, buy a specific thing. Whether they know it or not, that is exactly why they're gonna do it.

And I think we're at a very interesting revolution on this front. I think we're you know, we at Sesto are, like, super excited about. And I think that's the big narrative shift, the big, like, you know,

world shift or worldview shift that we're very excited about and building for at the moment because I think it's gonna happen in the next three to five years. Well, you I mean, I think we're seeing a lot of it happen. You think about the rise of Twitch and, you know, where you see guys that are day traders on, you know, YouTube or TikTok, but a lot of that is turning into entertainment.

Now granted some of it, I think, is a net negative for society, especially when you talk about gambling and a lot of these streams are going on and you're just watching people, you know, mindlessly gamble or bet on a meme coin and to to each their own. But I think it's an interesting signal for human behavior that we want to make money. We want to make our money work for us. But there's a stage where it kinda gets a little stagnant, and you want it to blend into entertainment.

And it's like, you know, you want to go on a Friday night out to dinner with your friends and, hey. What did you see this week? What are you guys investing in? There's there's something to that. I mean, classic example of this, you know, when when

12 tons of KitKat got stolen, what is the first thing that people did? People went and pumped the Nestle stock. And that's wild because, you know, in essence, like, virality is only a precursor to, like, how market charts and stuff react to it. Right? And so I think we're seeing a very interesting trend that, you know, already happened with Wall Street Bets and, like, GameStop and all of this.

But that where where I think communities of people are uniting to create, like, very meaningful alignment across different narratives. And this is, I think, like, fundamentally what's gonna shape, like, markets of the future given financial behavior is completely different. And therefore, I don't think we're gonna have, like, young people under the age of 40 that are gonna, you know, that go out there and and invest after reading a 30 page manifesto, go through a financial adviser.

That's just not gonna happen for sure. You're more likely to bump into a person. If you throw a stone, you're more likely to bump into a person that's young, that's gonna, you know, just have, like, heard something on TikTok and go and just buy Palantir on the basis of that. That's probably more likely behavior. You know?

Or you hear, like, a a TikTok reel with, like, a barber that's obsessed with, like, a certain pair of scissors that's, you know, manufactured by a plant in China that they know a lot about, and you're probably gonna end up buying that because you think that that's what's gonna, like, make the world, you know, turn around. And I think that's the world that we wanna create more and more. Super inspiring. It's always been the case with

human connection and stock tips and people sharing insights that they have. Like, every time I go to my grandpa's house, he's like, hey. I got a good stock tip for you. Like, it's just the way that culture has been, but, like, we are moving the the commons in the town square into more of these digital forms. And That barber analogy is is really Yeah. It's cool. That's super cool. Last question for you, Jason, as we wrap here.

What's your what are your thoughts on what happened earlier this week with x and cash tags and this idea of media and the interplay of it? What do you what do you think about all that? I love it. Let me just be honest. I love it because I think it validates this thesis of, like,

more and more of finance editorializing. Because in essence, x being the town hall where more and more news accrues, imagine being able to trade right in the dead center. I actually think that they're gonna do more volume than Robinhood in the next five years. If they if they just keep at it, I think this is just gonna happen without, like, without doubt. Just because I think the ease of doing it and the the the way in which people consume it's all just consumer behavior that I think is happening.

And just the menu breadth of things that you see on x, I think you're just gonna have, like, more and more of these cash tags kinda going up. And so for us, I think we're very bullish at Sesto that this is gonna be the direction in which a lot of, like, media heads. And so we wanna be the backbone that, like, powers that. And think of it as the YouTube that fueled, like, the growth of, like, video content.

I think there is there's something powerful that's happening here that I think is gonna be needed by all media houses in order to create, like, that financial, like, backbone. Sesto will be at the forefront of that, and I'm super excited by it. Let's go. Let's go. The Wesso cashmom too is coming up.

Oh, let's go. Well, thank you. Thanks for joining us, man. We would love to, you know, keep the conversation open around ways that media can play a role in Cesto. I think we're we're thinking the same way here. So if you have any ideas, let us know. We're we're open. Absolutely.
